i have about 30 old books that i have collected over the years and i don't know what to do with them.
i wouldn't mind getting a little money for them, after all, i did contribute and spend tons of money in car gas.
i have: you may survive armageddon into god's new world; what has religion done for mankind?
Look for something really outlandish, failed, culty, embarrasing, in a book, then advertise it emphasizing the passage. With a bit of luck a Dub will pay good money it to get it off the net.
so tonight just sucks ad i just want to vent to people who don't know me irl.. my wife and i have two kids.
i was still in when we got together but my wife never was.
when we actually got married i moved out of my parents place and never went back to a kingdom hall again.
Failure?
There are two of you. You have two kids. Is your idea of success contributing to the over-population of the planet your descendents will have to live in?
my question is since it looks as though mammoths were alive after the flood and we know elephants are then how much food was needed to feed just these four animals for the time they were on the ark.
also was the ark, 500 feet long, big enough to hold the amount of food needed for just these 4 animals.. .
.
Even if they hibernated on the ark, they would still need to eat when they got off.
what specifically made you stop believing in god and the bible?
was it a steady road of doubts or it was reading one book or one major event that made you realize the bible was not what it's claimed to be?.
.
The two passages about Jesus killing a fig tree because it had no fruit when it wasn't the season for fruit.
meeting with my congregation elders today.. going to tell them about the things i discovered about c.t russell.
(astrology, racism, ect.
) i don't know how to present this information or what to say.
You got off lightly. Some of us had our children and grandchildren inducted into this cult before we woke up that it was run by a bunch of loonies.
so wife and kids went to meeting while i stayed home because i am on a religious cleanse.
i feel really sad and lonely but i know that it is for the best.. on a side note, doe anyone here still agree with jw doctrines?
trinity being false?
The WT has managed to poison you against a doctrine that the bulk of Christianity, including the Catholic Church, doesn't teach. It only ever addresses Modalism, pretending that is the Trinity. Have you ever researched the Trinity in, say, the Catholic Encylopedia, to see if what the WT was bashing was official Catholic doctrine?
this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.
i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?
i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.
This one.
Deuteronomy 18 somewhere: If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken.
Even that isn't unique. Anything of real value in that collection of books can be found in other writings too.
there's been a buzz on this forum - on and off but currently on - that there has not been an article in any watchtower publication on the blood ban for a while - which feeds speculation that the organization is distancing itself from this doctrinal absurdity.
does that mean there's been nothing mentioned about the blood doctrine for months or years?
specifically, when did the watchtower last mention the blood ban?
They need to keep it.
It makes them 'special'.
There is another good reason too. Charlie Manson used it. Getting someone to do something that they would abhore as their normal non-cult self and the incentive to leave you, or betray you and admit to their peers that they committed, condoned and encouraged such acts without good reason because they were influenced by a nutter cult leader, stupidity, failure to do proper research on the creeps in charge, etc., is an extremely powerful control tool.

Vamdrup and Børkop are only 35 minutes apart. Maybe that area is getting short on Elders.
